Lake County is excited to partner for a half day workshop with Daniel Rezac from Tynker to engage teachers in the basics of computational thinking, computer science, and coding, and the relevance it has on our students today. Any educator can teach coding and embed computer science into instruction. With this professional learning opportunity you will be able to:
~ Learn what computational thinking is and how to support mastery
~ Use the Tynker Workshop (or IDE) for project creation
~ Create or remix your own coding lessons - that you can assign!
~ Navigate the gradebook and track student progress
~ Integrate coding into ANY subject and classroom!
In addition, we’ll help you navigate the lesson pages, add classes and students, and point you where to go when you need extra help. Computer science and coding is becoming a critical literacy in our time; we will teach you how to integrate coding smoothly into your curriculum and any classroom.
How do we teach persistence, when our students struggle? Computer Science is built on a foundation of iteration. In this workshop, we’ll use coding exercises, collaboration, and experience how computational thinking helps prepare our students for a code-ready future.
All who attend will get a 3 Free Courses that you can use with students right away!
A $25 Processing Fee Will Be Charged If Your Registration Is Not Cancelled By 10/25/2019.
